Enhancing workplace learning
Overview
The ability to learn faster than your competitors may be the only sustainable comparative advantage A. de Geus (1988:71)
This topic will introduce participants to the principles of facilitating employee learning within the workplace. The aim is to assist managers with creating an organisational culture that values individual and team learning and can harness learning to contribute to an organisation's competitive advantage. The materials covered will, therefore, focus on two levels: using learning to address individual training needs with relevant modes of learning and processes, and the way groups and organisations can learn.
Study will span from setting an individual learning plan based on needs analysis, to the basis for the learning organisation and organisational learning theories.
This topic aims to provide participants with a theoretical understanding on how to build an effective learning environment, while also examining the practical skills and tools required to promote learning in the workplace.
