2.3.5 Wealth and material possessions
In most countries, wealth and material possessions are viewed as desirable attributes, but in some cultures, such as some Pacific Islanders, individuals work only long enough to earn a little money and then cease work until those funds have been exhausted. In other, generally more affluent cultures, people live to work and are interested in job security, participation in management and self-actualisation rather than only straight monetary rewards. Managers in international business must identify the types of rewards that are considered important by employees in a particular culture.
