4.10.1 Adverse effects on domestic firms

Adverse effects arise from the impact that a well-financed MNE will have on indigenous companies in the same industry. Economies of scale, superior technology and managerial expertise can be expected to drive existing local companies out of business. It will also inhibit the growth of infant industry.
