11.6 Summary

This brings us to the end of the expanded marketing mix for services where in addition to product, price, place and promotion, we discovered the important roles that services personnel and customers carry out in the service encounter as part of the fifth P, participants. Then we learned that the entire service process has to be managed so that operations and marketing result in satisfactory customer service. Finally, in this chapter we discussed physical evidence, which we found was important in making services seem tangible and thus easier for customers to evaluate the service delivery.
