6.8 Summary

You should by now have a good idea of what is mean by product in marketing terms, and it is probably quite different to your use of the term previously. We have seen in this chapter that while services share some characteristics with physical products, in other ways they are quite different. Although some sectors of the maritime industry, such as shipbuilding, are involved in the production of physical products, other sectors, such as ports, are involved with the provision of service products.
