Marketing logistics networks

Overview

In this chapter we look at the third P, place, which refers to the channels through which we distribute products to customers. Thus, we are interested in the types of distribution channels we can use, and how these are organised and managed. In this chapter we will gain an understanding of logistics, or the actual physical movement of goods through these channels, and the impact of this activity on standards of customer service. We refer to this as being the system of marketing logistics networks.
