5.2.1 Empathy

Empathy means trying to understand the other person's point of view or trying to put yourself in their shoes. This can be difficult if we are unfamiliar with the person or if they are from a different culture. However, with open communication and by carefully listening to the needs, desires, interests and motivations of the other party we can try to understand their point of view and how it might influence or affect the situation.
