7.3.2 Informational listening
Informational listening is useful when the listener is trying to listen to large chunks of information or is trying to concentrate on facts. This style of listening is useful, for example, when listening to seminars, debates and lectures.
Activity 7c
- Attend a public lecture, forum or debate or listen to an information session on the radio. For example, tune in to a station dedicated to current affairs. How much of the information can you remember after 15 minutes? 30 minutes? One hour?
- How can you better concentrate on the message?
- Repeat what you have learned from the information to someone as soon after the event as you can. Does that help you remember the information?
