Conclusion

If you are interested in reading more about leadership there are many books and journals in public libraries. We encourage you to pursue this area. Leadership and the One-Minute Manager (Blanchard et al 1990) is very readable and is concerned with increasing effectiveness through situational leadership. Some of Rosabeth Kanter's work also discusses leadership, relating it to a wide variety of organisational phenomena.

Books on leadership range from the textbook and theoretical types, through to quite readable novel types, to journal articles based on the experiences of practitioners. The HR Monthy and Management journals are particularly good as they are practitioner focussed and usually only two or three pages in length.
