Welcome to our study of management. We will provide information and learning that can assist you improve how you manage a business operation within the transport and logistics industry. In our study we will examine the fundamentals of management from a range a general perspective.

The broad functions that managers may operate within and the cross-disciplinary nature of management has meant theorists and practitioners from many perspectives have contributed opinions and models on effective management practice. Unit Descriptor

The unit covers those activities required of a manager running a business operation and links closely with the business planning units. The emphasis is on the implementation of plans and the monitoring and response to systems failures.

This unit is the implementation of the work done in BSBMGT603A Review and develop business plans; co‑assessment should be strongly considered.

Consider co‑assessment also with BSBMGT606A Manage customer focus and BSBMGT609A Manage risk.

Unit Descriptor

This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to manage a transport and distribution business unit in accordance with relevant regulatory requirements and workplace procedures. This includes identifying the market for the business unit, setting transport and distribution business unit objectives, collecting information for business planning operations, establishing the resources required to achieve objectives, and managing business unit performance to achieve the required outcomes.
