7.7 Inspections
Inspections are a vital part of workplace safety practice that involve the monitoring of the workplace for potential hazards. This section of your workbook describes how inspections may be used to ensure that your workplace complies with acceptable standards.
Inspections may be categorised as belonging to one of two main types; continuous or planned . Other types of inspection include intermittent inspections, or those made at irregular intervals, and general inspections of places which do not receive periodic inspections. The two main types of inspection have advantages and disadvantages and these must be considered when deciding to employ a particular type.
