  • Fumes from glues, plastics, hot metals, petrol, gases and lubricants
  • Smells from paints, plastics and pesticides

Biological

  • Rusted machine parts
  • Unclean work area and facilities

Psychological

  • Long shifts without proper breaks

Electrical

  • Broken or frayed cords
  • Exposed wires
  • Faulty electrical wiring
  • Poor work design layout

 

In all the above cases signage is most often used to reinforce the hazards. Reporting also needs to be well established to ensure that any faults or problems are immediately communicated and actioned.
