2.1 Plan and manage human resources
Previous topics have mainly considered the management of financial and information resources within an operational context. Another type of resources, and possibly the most important, is human resources, or the people who work within an organisation to achieve its goals and objectives. Managing human resources is an important part of overall operational planning. For instance, if the business plans to boost production it will also need to have enough extra employees to meet the new production targets. This section will briefly examine how human resources can be obtained, selected and inducted and the resulting implications for resource planning.
