3.2 Estimate the risk attached to a corrective action

Data and information associated with enhancing existing performance or operations should be reviewed to determine optimal solutions. However, different solutions may involve different levels of risk.

Different factors can impact how risks associated with a remedial action or decision are assessed. A set of at least six potential risk factors for both the internal and external environment are commonly used. These usually enable individuals to participatively identify factors that will impact the attainment of desired directions. Usually group decision-making processes are used to collect internal or external risk factors.
