8.1.3 Multi product/service

Most businesses produce or provide more than one kind of product or service. In this case it is not sufficient to use full costing. It is likely that one kind of product or service is more expensive to produce than another kind. Perhaps the raw materials required are dearer; maybe the time taken to provide the service is longer for each unit of output and so on. The price of each type of good or service will vary depending on their cost to produce. A customer may expect to pay the same price everywhere for each bottle of Boags Premium Beer, but would not expect to pay the same price for each car repair. The beer product is identical but the service provided by a mechanic is not.
